Aine Laffin
Aine Laffin, Production Unit Manager, PTA, Boston Scientific
Aine has over fifteen years experience in the Medical Device industry having joined Boston Scientific as a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer. Over the years, Aine has worked in various roles across the business, with increasing responsibility up to Manufacturing Engineering Manager of the Polymer Core Technology area. She has most recently moved into the role of Production Unit Manager and is leading a team who manufacture a range of complex products used within Peripheral Intervention. Aine also gained experience with another Global Medical Device company, for a number of years, working within the Global Procurement organisation as both a Polymer SME and Polymer Global Commodity Manager.
Aine is very passionate and a strong advocate for people development and engagement, and actively supports the Women's Network as Co-lead of the Professional Development Workstream. Boston Scientific has a strong culture of career development, and Aine appreciates all the support she has received from all genders throughout her career.
Aine has a 1st class Honours degree in Chemical with Polymer Engineering, and a PhD in "Polymers for use in Medical Device Applications" both from Queen's University, Belfast. Aine lives in Galway, with her husband Chris, and two children Emily and Cillian. Outside of work, Aine loves spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors as well as trying out any new restaurants.
