Dr. Peter Hale, Manager of Applications and Product Development, Deringer-Ney
Dr. Peter M. Hale is an alumnus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), receiving his BS in Materials Science and Engineering in 2001.. He was employed at Raytheon for two years as a Materials Engineer specializing in failure analysis, before returning to RPI for doctoral studies.
He received his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in 2007, defending his thesis titled Microstructural effects on the oxidation of iron aluminide.
Dr. Hale joined Deringer-Ney's Research & Development department in 2007 as a Senior Research Metallurgist, where he participated in numerous alloy and process design programs for the automotive, medical, and semiconductor test markets. After a six-year tenure and securing two patents on novel alloys, he was promoted to the Manager of Advanced Technology.
In 2017, he was promoted to serve as Manager of Applications and Product Development, focusing on program management, materials selection, application-specific design optimization, and design for manufacturability. He is also active in the organization of the annual IEEE Holm Conference on Electrical Contacts.
