Padraic Conway is a procurement professional with over thirty six years' experience in the medical device/pharma industry. He has In-depth knowledge of Multinational purchasing/supply chain, regulatory and end to end value streams. He is a strategic thinker, with a track record in building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. He is a strong advocate of change with proven ability to identify opportunities, problem solve and implement improvements, he holds a M.Sc. in Supply Chain Management.
He developed several indigenous and international suppliers into significant partners to multinationals, some were in a "Start up" phase or diversifying. He played a pivotal role in developing a global sourcing strategy to support global manufacturing.

He project managed major procurement/supply chain change programs such as post-merger vendor integration, new business development, intercompany product transfers and manufacturing and distribution initiatives. He introduced a supplier development programme to assist suppliers with lean and other cost saving initiatives in order to stay competitive.

He implemented a "Table top expo" initiative where key suppliers meet face to face with R&D to showcase their product portfolio and technical competencies. This has led to greater utilisation of the suppliers on the approved supplier list. Other sites have now implemented a similar program also.
He developed robust operating procedures that ensured regulatory and financial compliance, he also represented purchasing and supply chain in several regulatory and financial audits that resulted in zero findings.
He saved several million dollars through request for quotations process, material changes, supplier process changes and transferring business to an alternative supplier. This became the model for cost down and inventory reduction initiatives for other global sites, he won several corporate individual and team awards for this achievement.

He reduced raw material holding through reduced lead-times and consignment initiatives with suppliers. He has a global network of contacts: For example, through this network he located an obsolete resin that secured the launch of a product in a particular geography, revenue generated by this product was $ millions in year one of the launch.

He played a pivotal role in developing a global sourcing strategy to support global manufacturing. He participated in a number of trade events for Enterprise Ireland and the IDA. He successfully led the implementation of SAP systems for purchasing as part of the roll out plan for SAP across multiple sites.
