Sharon Fahy, Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs, Medtronic
Sharon Fahy is a Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs at Medtronic and is based at the Parkmore facility in Galway, Ireland. In her role Sharon leads the post market regulatory team for the Coronary & Renal Denervation Operating Unit where RA's mission is to develop innovative strategies for regulatory approval, anticipate and respond to changing regulatory requirements,
and provide strategic leadership to influence the global regulatory environment in order to benefit the 75+million patients served by Medtronic products annually. Her team interfaces with multiple global regulatory authorities including US FDA, Notified Bodies and Competent Authorities in
addition to the large Medtronic community worldwide.
Sharon has 25 years industry experience in both quality and regulatory roles, initially working in the pharmaceutical industry before transitioning to MedTech to support regulatory aspects of combination products.
With a BSc (Hons) in Applied Chemistry, and a Diploma in Quality Management Sharon is a recent MBA graduate from University of Galway where she was a recipient of a 30% Club scholarship award. Sharon acknowledges the importance of support infrastructures and is
involved with various external industry associations and Medtronic resource groups where she is currently a sponsor of Medtronic's Young Professional Network.
