Dr. Brendan Boland
Dr. Brendan Boland, Head of Consulting, MedTech, EY
As a physician, a MedTech company founder and Executive Chairperson, and Head of Consulting Medtech at EY, Brendan has an exceptional depth of knowledge and experience of the Irish MedTech ecosystem.
He graduated from University College Dublin Medicine in 2006 and went on to become a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, and the Irish College of General Practitioners.
Brendan worked as a clinician for over seven years before gaining a place on the prestigious BioInnovate Fellowship.
He was co-founder and CEO of Loci Orthopaedics, a clinical stage orthopaedic medical technology company, for which he led the company's funding of over €22M to date.
Brendan is currently the Executive Chairperson of Loci Orthopaedics and combines his passion for developing medical technology to meet large unmet clinical needs, with supporting others with the same mission via his unique physician-entrepreneur insights.
Brendan was most recently appointed as Head of Consulting Medtech for EY Ireland, where he brings deep insights into the challenges facing MedTech nationally and internationally, and enabling MedTech companies to benefit from the most constructive and value-generating lifesciences supports available at EY.
Brendan is also a Mentor on the BioInnovate Fellowship, sits on Elkstone’s Venture Advisory Panel, and is a guest lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland.
