She transitioned into medical devices through technologies combining devices with drugs and drug‑delivery systems, providing a strong scientific foundation for her subsequent regulatory work. She has worked closely with regulators and industry stakeholders across the EU, UK, and international markets, supporting manufacturers in navigating complex regulatory pathways and market transitions.

Claire holds a degree in Biochemistry with Biotechnology from the University of St Andrews and a PhD in rational drug design from the University of Leicester, supported by the Wellcome Trust. She is known for her collaborative and inclusive leadership style, strong commitment to public health, and focus on building capable, high‑performing teams while upholding the highest standards of regulatory integrity and patient safety.
