Rachael Purcell

Rachael Purcell, Biomedical Engineer, Styker
Rachael is a biomedical engineer with over 2 years of experience at Stryker, where she first began as an intern in 2021, working in developing and utilising digital solutions for customized patient implants. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from University of Limerick and has recently completed her master’s in medical Device Technology and Business from Griffith College.
As part of Stryker's Advanced Operations Graduate Engineering Development Program, Rachael gained diverse experience through four rotations: enhancing manufacturing processes with digital solutions, R&D of materials to develop bone cements, improving inspection processes in manufacturing through digital solutions, and designing and simulating the behaviours of shoulder implants. Rachael also is the Ireland Communications Lead for Stryker’s WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) group, supporting initiatives that promote women in STEM.
