Síora Maclean, Chief Operating Officer & Co-founder, AuriGen Medical
Síora Maclean is Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of AuriGen Medical, a Galway-based MedTech company developing next-generation structural heart technologies to reduce the risk of stroke in
patients with atrial fibrillation.
With more than 25 years' experience across engineering, quality, regulatory affairs, operations and executive leadership, Síora has spent her career supporting the development of innovative medical
technologies from concept through clinical translation and commercialisation. At AuriGen, she has helped build the company from an early-stage start-up into a clinical-stage business, leading operations and finance while helping to shape the company's growth.
She played a central role in delivering the company's successful First-in-Human clinical trial and securing more than €21 million in funding.
Passionate about solving complex problems, Síora believes that great MedTech innovation depends as much on resilient teams and thoughtful leadership as it does on technical excellence. She is particularly
interested in how purpose, culture and authenticity help individuals and organisations navigate uncertainty, embrace challenge and achieve meaningful impact.
As a speaker, Síora enjoys sharing the realities of leadership in an early-stage MedTech company, offering practical insights into resilience, decision-making and building high-performing teams,
while encouraging others to embrace opportunities that challenge and inspire them.
