Hilary Barrett is a R&D Project Manager for the Urology and Critical Care Business Unit at Becton Dickinson (BD), Research Centre Ireland. She has 10+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry, working in R&D on new product development programs generating advanced medical technologies and designing mechanical and electromechanical devices.
Earlier in her career, Hilary completed her PhD in Biomedical engineering on cardiovascular diseased tissue characterisation at the University of Limerick, and following this became a fellow of the Marie Sklodowska Curie based at the Biomedical Engineering Department of Cardiology and collaborating with the Radiology & Nuclear Medicine in the Erasmus Medical Centre (EMC), Rotterdam. Here at the EMC, she worked as a Scientific Researcher developing a method for cardiovascular disease detection using a novel integrated molecular imaging approach.
